Wood Dock Staining

We Preserve Old & New Wood Docks!

Marina Restorations Can Revitalize Wood Docks & Bring Them Back To Life!

Q. How Do You Protect Your Wood Docks Against Harsh Conditions & Contaminants?

A. You have to use the right kind of stain for the wood you’re applying it to. You have to take into consideration the type of wood (hard/soft porous/non-porous). You also need to use the proper staining method/technique. Finally, you have to use the correct stain for the conditions your wood docks will be exposed to (Salt Water/Fresh Water Extreme Sunlight & Heat/Shaded. Knowing the conditions your dock/docks will be exposed to is vital in choosing the correct stain and staining method for your individual project.

Q. Why Do Existing Stained and/or Sealed Wood Docks Attract Mildew/Fungus/Algae?

A. They have been stained and/or sealed with an oil based product. Oil based stains and sealers contain seed oils. Seed oils are actual food for mildew/fungus & algae. Using oil based products on your wood docks causes maintenance problems (keeping them clean from mildew, fungus, algae, etc.) and also future maintenance coats on your wood (build up & drying issues). Also, oil based products are toxic and harmful to our environment.

The Eco-Friendly Stains & Sealers We Apply DO NOT Contain Any Seed Oils & Provide Superior Durability Over Oil Based Stains & Sealers! Also, The Stains & Sealers We Apply Contain Higher UV Inhibitors and Provide Extreme Salt Water Protection! Our Stains Are Available In Any Beautiful Rich Color You Desire!

Q. How Do I Clean My Wood Dock/Docks?

A. Use a Real Good Eco-Friendly Wood Dock Cleaner. A real good wood dock cleaner will do most of the work for you. A real good wood dock cleaner will not harm the wood fibers in the wood, plants, grass and marine life. Our Dock Cleaner is biodegradable and removes dirt, grime, mildew stains, previous coatings (not paint), salt and weathered graying from horizontal and vertical wood surfaces. Just pressure wash it off.

Q.
How Long Will My Stain Last?

A. It really depends on what type of wood decking you have. For example, Brazilian Hardwoods require a one coat maintenance coat every 12 to 18 months. On softer more porous woods such as cedar, firs, pressure treated, etc. expect to re-coat in 2 to 4 years.

All Of Our Stains & Sealers We Apply Are Eco-Friendly, Extremely Durable, Hold Up In All Conditions, Contain High UV Inhibitors, Mildew/Fungus Resistant & Provide Both Salt Water and Fresh Water Protection! All Of Our Stains Pass ASTM Standards for Adhesion And Weathering!
